CHRIS DOUTHITT

Christopher Douthitt is a composer, guitarist, and songwriter from Spokane, Washington. His music draws on many traditions, from 20th century classical to American primitive guitar to free electronic improvisation to spoken word. He is interested in the use of electro-acoustic techniques to explore the intersections and points of tension between compositional architecture and immediate live performance.

Douthitt earned an AB in Music from Princeton University and an MM in Music Theory from Northwestern University. He is currently pursuing his MA in Composition at Mills College. He also writes for and fronts the Austin, Texas-based band, The Glyphs.
